RICHARD F. VALERA is an Equity Research Analyst for Needham and
Company covering companies in the wireless communications
equipment industry. Prior to joining Needham in October 1997, Mr.
Valera spent nine years in the electronic design automation
industry, most recently as a Senior Applications Consultant at
Synopsys, an industry-leading provider of logic synthesis and
verification tools. Prior to Synopsys, Mr. Valera was employed
at Viewlogic Systems and Racal-Redac/ HHB Systems in a variety of
technical and marketing capacities. Mr. Valera has an MBA in
Finance from Rutgers University and a BS in Electrical
Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. The following
