WILLIAM H. WILCOX is President and Chief Executive Officer and Director
of United Surgical Partners International, Inc. From 1996 until
September 1998, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of United
Dental Care, Inc., a publicly traded dental health maintenance
organization. From September 1994 to May 1996, he served as President of
the Surgery Group of Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation and President
and Chief Executive Officer of the Ambulatory Surgery Division of
Columbia, respectively. Prior to assuming the position with Columbia in
September 1994, Mr. Wilcox was the Chief Operating Officer and a
Director of Medical Care America. He held several positions with that
company between 1983 and 1994, including President of Medical Care
International (infusion therapy). Prior to 1983, he held various
hospital management positions with Hospital Corporation of America and
Hospital Affiliates International. He received his BA from Vanderbilt
University and his Master's degree in Health Systems Management from
