WILLIAM R. MCLAUGHLIN is President and CEO of Select Comfort. Prior to
joining Select Comfort Corporation, Mr. McLaughlin was President of
Frito-Lay Europe, Middle East and Africa, responsible for integrating
and accelerating growth in a portfolio of over $2 billion in sales in 17
countries. After his Turkey operation suffered heavy damage and loss of
life in the 1999 earthquake, he organized a worldwide, internal PepsiCo
fundraising program to support the recovery of affected PepsiCo families
and their communities. Mr. McLaughlin also led Frito-Lay businesses in
Mexico and the Caribbean, and led marketing operations in Brazil. Mr.
McLaughlin began his career in marketing in 1981 with the Pillsbury
Company. He received his MBA from Dartmouth's Amos Tuck School and his
undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College. Mr. McLaughlin currently
serves as a Director for Orion Safety Products, Minnesota Public Radio

Mr. McLaughlin: Select Comfort was founded in 1987 by an inventor and
former innerspring
