WILLIAM L. COLLINS III is President and Chief Executive Officer of
Metrocall, Inc., a leading company in the paging and wireless messaging
industry. Mr. Collins founded and operated major companies in both the
cellular and paging industries. Mr. Collins has been in the
communications industry since 1977. He first became active with
Metrocall as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors in 1994, when the
firm was founded. Mr. Collins founded and started up companies such as
Cellular Mobile Radio Systems, Inc., Communications Corporation
International, which merged into Vanguard Cellular Systems, Inc. He also
was co-founder and Director of Vanguard, which was recently acquired by
AT&T. Mr. Collins was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
Personal Communications Industry Association (PCIA) from 1996-1998. Mr.
Collins serves on the Board of Trustees of Marymount University and the
Board of American Baseball Capital, which owns and operates two minor
league baseball franchises, the Greensboro Bats (Class A affiliate of
the New York Yankees) and the Michigan Battle Cats (Class A affiliate of
the Houston Astros). Mr. Collins serves on the Board of Directors of the
Washington-Baltimore bid to host the 2012 International Olympic Games in
the National Capital Area. He is a member of the Board of Directors of
the Fairfax County, VA Chamber of Commerce. He is also involved with
numerous charities and community service organizations including
Catholic Charities, the Special Olympics, Special Love-Camp Fantastic, a
camp for children suffering from cancer, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of
the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Prior to his business career, Mr.
Collins played professional baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers
organization from 1972 to 1974 after graduating from The George
Washington University in 1972. In 1993, he was inducted into the G.W.U.
Athletic Hall of Fame and the DeMatha High School Hall of Fame. Mr.
