WILLIAM F. LASKY founded Alterra Healthcare Corporation in 1981 and
presently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. The Company
is the nation's largest provider of assisted living healthcare services
and the largest operator of free-standing Alzheimer and other related
dementia residences. At the close of the first quarter of 1999, the
Company operated or managed 369 assisted living residences with a total
resident capacity of 15,841 and had a 7,042 resident capacity under
construction or development for a total identified capacity of 22,883.
Under Mr. Lasky's leadership, Alterra has been recognized throughout the
assisted living industry as a pioneer and innovator, bringing new and
important approaches to residence design, staffing, resident care and
programming. Mr. Lasky is widely recognized for his expertise in the
developing, marketing, financing, managing and resident programming of
assisted living projects and is a frequent speaker at national health
care conferences. He is the immediate past chairman of the Board of
Directors of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), the
nation's primary trade organization for assisted living. Mr. Lasky is
also a member of ALFA's Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and
International Assisted Living Foundation Board. Prior to founding
Alterra Healthcare Corporation in 1981, Mr. Lasky held management
positions in two national nursing home companies, and has served as an
administrator in a number of long term care settings. Profile
