WILLIAM C. MORTIMORE, Founder of Merge Technologies Inc., has served as
President, Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of
Directors of the company since its inception in 1987. During the last 25
years, Mr. Mortimore has served as Co-Founder and has been in top
management of several businesses in the fields of information
communications technology, healthcare services and real estate, and has
been responsible for securing over $50 million in public and private
financing for these organizations. Mr. Mortimore is a worldwide leader
in the field of medical imaging standardization, having been an original
member of the American College of Radiology/National Association of
Electrical Manufacturers Committee responsible for establishing and
maintaining the DICOM medical imaging standard. Mr. Mortimore is also a
member of the Board of Directors of the Diagnostic Imaging Division of
NEMA. Mr. Mortimore received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
fromMichigan State University, an M.E.E. degree from the University of
Minnesota, and completed the graduate requirements, except for
dissertation, for a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University

Mr. Mortimore: The company started in 1987 in my basement here in
Milwaukee.
