David Ross, CFA, joined the Stifel Nicolaus research team in connection with Stifel's December 2005 acquisition of Legg Mason Capital Markets Group. He covers the freight transportation industry, with a concentration in the LTL, logistics and parcel sectors. Mr. Ross joined Legg Mason in 2001. Prior to that, he worked as a Financial Analyst for RailWorks Corp., and as an Investment Banking Analyst in the global transportation and logistics group of Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. Mr. Ross was ranked number one for stock picking in the road and rail industry by Financial Times/Starmine. He was also named a "Best-on-the-Street" analyst in the industrial transportation industry by The Wall Street Journal in 2009.
