Victor L. Campbell is a Senior Vice President of HCA, based in
Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Campbell, 53, has primary responsibilities for
internal and external communications, investor relations and government
relations. Mr. Campbell was named in the August 1995 issue of
Institutional Investor as one of the Top 10 Investor Relations Officers
among America's public companies. He is a member of the Operations
Committee of the American Hospital Association, the Board of AHA
Financial Solutions Inc., and the Board and Executive Committee of the
Federation of American Hospitals. Mr. Campbell was Chairman of the FAH
during 1992-1993. Mr. Campbell joined HCA in 1972 in the finance
department, and initiated HCA's investor relations function in 1976. Mr.
Campbell was named Senior Vice President, Investor Relations, in 1994
and assumed his additional responsibilities in August 1997. Prior to
joining HCA, Mr. Campbell worked from 1969 to 1972 in the Treasurer's
Department of E.I. Dupont de Nemours in Wilmington, Delaware. As a 28-
year resident of Nashville, Mr. Campbell has served on the Boards of
numerous non profit organizations, including the American Heart
Association, United Way of Middle Tennessee and the Nashville Humane
Shelter. A founding board member of PENCIL, a Nashville organization
which provides business and community support to public education, Mr.
Campbell is currently an Advisor to PENCIL's Board of Directors and past
Chairman. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Nashville
Sports Council. A native of Indiana, Mr. Campbell received his
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1969 from Anderson
