VICENTE ANIDO JR. has been President and Chief Executive Officer of ISTA
pharmaceuticals, Inc., since December 2001. Dr. Anido brings the company
more than 26 years of multinational general management experience in the
healthcare industry. With an impressive background in building results-
oriented teams, along with expertise in ophthalmology and in the area of
mergers and acquisitions, Dr. Anido is poised to lead the transformation
of ISTA from a drug development company to a revenue-generating
specialty pharmaceutical firm. Dr. Anido comes to ISTA having spent the
previous 18 months as a general partner at Windamere Venture Partners in
San Diego, California. Prior to his tenure with Windamere, Dr. Anido
served as the President and CEO of CombiChem, Inc., a drug discovery
company that was purchased by Dupont Pharmaceuticals in November 1999.
