Scott Shevick has covered the ethical and generic pharmaceutical
industries for over 16 years and has written extensively on trends in
the pharmaceutical industry, as well as companies. He and his partner,
Joe Riccardo, have been ranked by Institutional Investor for over a
decade. Prior to joining Bear, Stearns in 1992, Mr. Shevick was the
senior pharmaceutical analyst at Rothschild Inc. From 1986 to 1992, Mr.
Shevick was the senior pharmaceutical and healthcare analyst and
portfolio manager for Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust. He is a
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the New York Society
of Security Analysts. Mr Shevick earner an MS in Finance from the
University of Baltimore and a BS from the E. Claiborne Robins School of

Joseph P. Riccardo is Bear, Stearns' Senior Health Care Analyst and Head
of the Health Care Research Group. He has been covering the
pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years. Mr. Riccardo joined
Bear, Stearns in 1979. Mr. Riccardo has been elected to the
Institutional Investor's All Star team during the last several years and
is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. Mr. Riccardo
has written extensively on trends in the pharmaceutical industry and
company meetings, and has appeared on Wall Street Week, CNBC and other
business programs. Mr. Riccardo was profiled in an article on trends in
the pharmaceutical industry in Barron's in April 1995. Mr. Riccardo is a
member of the Board of Governors at Hackensack University Medical
Center. He holds an MBA from City College of New york and a BS from St.
