TONY FRANCESCHINI is President and Chief Executive Officer of Stantec
Inc. since June 1998. He has served as a Director of Stantec since the
company became a public entity in March 1994. He holds a Civil
Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo. His entire career
has been with professional consulting firms, where he has provided
consulting services, management, and leadership. He began his
professional career as a Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineer
with a major international consulting firm, based in Ontario. In 1978,
he joined the Stantec organization (then known as Stanley), relocating
to Alberta, and was soon playing a key role in determining the company's
strategic direction. Beginning in 1987, Mr. Franceschini assumed
responsibility for Stantec's urban land and transportation practice. His
responsibilities continued to increase, and by November 1997 he was
Senior Vice President and COO, Consulting Services. Profile
