Tom O'Connor is president of Duke Energy Gas Transmission (DEGT), Duke
Energy's interstate natural gas pipeline business, and serves on Duke
Energy's Executive Advisory Council. Mr. O'Connor was named president of
DEGT's US operations in conjunction with Duke Energy's acquisition of
Westcoast Energy Inc. in 2002. Since 1994, he has served as senior vice
president of marketing and capacity management, Vice President of
marketing, Vice President of East Coast marketing for the Northeast
Pipeline Group and president of PanEnergy Development Co. Previously, he
served Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. as Director of marketing
services and Director of business development. Mr. O'Connor joined the
company in 1987 as supervisor of environmental compliance for Algonquin
Gas Transmission in New England. He was promoted to manager of
environmental compliance in 1988 and became manager of market
development for Algonquin the following year. Mr. O'Connor received a
bachelor of science degree in biology, cum laude, in 1977 and a master
of science degree in environmental studies in 1980 from the University
of Massachusetts at Lowell. He is the chairman of the Science
Development Board at The College of Arts and Sciences at the University
of Massachusetts at Lowell, a member of the board of trustees for the
United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast, and a member of the board of
Directors of the Northeast Gas Association. Profile
