TIMOTHY C. TUFF is Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer of John H. Harland Company, one of the leading providers
of software and printed products to the financial and educational
markets. Mr. Tuff joined Harland after five years as President
and CEO of Boral Industries, where he managed the North American
and European operations of Australia-based Boral, Ltd., a world
leader in building and construction materials. He joined Boral in
1993, and under his leadership, the US business focused on four
core businesses, and through a process of internal business
improvement, acquisition and innovation, achieved market
leadership in each business. Prior to Boral, he was a General
Partner with Ampersand Ventures, a Wellesley, Massachusetts-based
specialty chemicals and materials venture capital firm. Mr. Tuff
joined Alcan Aluminum, Ltd., in 1968. His career with Alcan
spanned more than 20 years and included management positions in
several of the company's divisions, including presidency of its
US operations. Mr. Tuff received a Bachelor's degree in Economics
from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He also
received a Master's degree in Marketing from the University of
Lancaster in England and attended Harvard Business School's
Advanced Management Program. Profile
