TIMOTHY FIDLER is the Director of Research at Ariel Capital Management,
LLC. He oversees Ariel's investigative research effort by managing the
firm's analysts and supervising all proprietary research conducted by
the firm. Additionally, he works directly with John W. Rogers Jr. in
the research and portfolio management process as a member of the firm's
portfolio management team for both the firm's small and mid-cap
institutional and mutual fund portfolios. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa
from Northwestern University with a BA with honors distinction. He also
earned an MBA from The University of Chicago, where he graduated with
high honors. He joined Ariel in October 1999 and has over 10 years of
research and portfolio management experience. He began his career at
Morgan Stanley & Co. in the asset management area of the firm as a
Research Analyst and Portfolio Manager working on the firm's US Value
management teams. Moreover, he has earned the Chartered Financial
Analyst designation. He also serves as a Director for United
Neighborhood Organization, the largest Latino-based community and
economic development organization in the Midwest, and as a Director and
Treasurer of Octavio Paz Charter School, a privately managed Chicago
