THOMAS SNEAD, CEO, joined Trigon Healthcare in 1985 as Manager,
Subsidiary Finance. He held the positions of Financial Compliance
Director, Accounting and Budget Director and Group Business Financial
Officer. Mr. Snead was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer in 1990. He was elected President and Chief Operating
Officer in 1997 and assumed his current position in 1999. Before joining
the company, he served on the staff of public accounting firm KPMG Peat
Marwick and was the financial executive for several small firms in the
Richmond, Virginia area. Mr. Snead has a BS with honors, Accounting,
Virginia Commonwealth University, 1976. His professional memberships
include: Virginia Commonwealth University Accounting Advisory Council;
VCU Business Council; Virginia Society of CPAs; American Institute of
CPAs; and the Financial Executives Institute. Profile
