THOMAS E. D'AMBRA, PhD is Founder, Chairman of the Board of Directors
and Chief Executive Officer of Albany Molecular Research, Inc. Dr.
D'Ambra began his career in the Medicinal Chemistry Department at
Sterling Winthrop Pharmaceuticals as a senior research chemist. He was
later promoted to Group Leader and co-Project Leader. During his seven-
year tenure at Sterling Winthrop, Dr. D'Ambra participated in drug
research programs in the endocrine, cardiovascular and analgesic
therapeutic areas. In 1989, Dr. D'Ambra co-founded Coromed, Inc., a
clinical research organization where he established the chemistry and
biology departments and served as Vice President, Chemistry. In 1991,
Dr. D'Ambra left Coromed and founded Albany Molecular Research. At AMRI,
he has been involved in many different aspects of the growing business,
from bench research scientist to business development to management. Dr.
D'Ambra received a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the College of
the Holy Cross and a doctorate in Organic Chemistry from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He has authored numerous
publications and is inventor on over 30 patents. Profile
