JOHN FONTANELLA is a Service Director, Supply Chain Strategies, at AMR
Research. Prior to joining AMR Research, Mr. Fontanella was Director of
Worldwide Logistics for Microsoft Corporation, responsible for
developing global strategies for manufacturing, distribution and program
management in support of Microsoft's OEM, retail and solution-provider
channels. While at Microsoft, he participated in the implementation of
SAP and Manugistics software. Mr. Fontanella's previous experience also
includes 15 years with Digital Equipment Corporation, where he held a
variety of positions in Operations and Marketing, including U.S.
Distribution Manager and Head of Supply Chain Consulting Practice.
ADWEEK Magazine selected Mr. Fontanella as one of the top 15 most
influential Technology Analysts in 2001. He also writes a monthly column
for InternetWeek on supply chain technologies. He is a member of the
Council of Logistics Management and chaired the Integrating Supply Chain
Systems Track at its 2000 Annual Conference. He is also on the Board for
the Center for Logistics Leadership at the University of Nevada, Reno,
and a member of Penn State's Center for Logistics Management. Mr.
Fontanella holds an MBA from Suffolk University, Boston, and a
Bachelor's degree from Saint Anselm College, Manchester, NH. Profile
