STEVEN E. WILSON is the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice
President, Secretary and Treasurer of United Bankshares, Inc. A
Marietta, Ohio, native, he received a BS degree from Ohio State
University, Columbus, Ohio and is a graduate of the Louisiana
University Graduate School of Banking. Mr. Wilson was President,
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Union Central National
Bank and has held numerous management positions in his 30 years
with United. He is a member of the Parkersburg Area Chamber of
Commerce and has been active in the Boy Scouts of America. He
served as a U.S. Army Ordinance officer and was a Captain in the
