SHELBY T. BREWER was elected Chairman of the Board, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Commodore Applied Technologies, Inc., in January
2001. Commodore is a publicly traded firm (American Stock Exchange)
engaged in environmental remediation, financial services and chemical
weapons destruction. Mr. Brewer is the Founder and President of S.
Brewer Enterprises, Inc., a consulting firm founded in 1996 to serve the
manufacturing, engineering and financial services industries. The firm
is engaged in support of mergers and acquisitions, arranging private and
public financing, formation of joint ventures abroad, re-
engineering/repositioning established companies, and assisting the
formation of new technology enterprises. Prior to joining Commodore he
was President and Chief Executive Officer of ABB Combustion Engineering
Nuclear Power from 1985 to 1995. Mr. Brewer was Assistant Secretary of
Energy from 1981 to 1984. He currently serves on the Boards of
BlackLight Power Corporation, U.S. Global Foundation, Nurescell, Inc.,
and Commodore Applied Technologies. Mr. Brewer served in the U.S. Navy
as a commissioned officer from 1961 to 1964. He has a PhD and MS in
Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a BS
in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Humanities from Columbia

TWST: Would you begin with a brief historical sketch and an overview ofCommodore Applied Technologies, Inc.?
Dr. Brewer: The company was taken public in 1996 and one of their first
big market
