ROBERT STERN, CFA, covers semiconductor equipment stocks in
several subsectors including test assembly and packaging,
subsystems providers, surface conditioning, factory automation,
materials and ion implantation. Mr. Stern joined Needham &
Company in 2001. Previously, he was an Analyst with Merrill Lynch
from 1996 to 2000, Salomon Smith Barney (then Smith Barney) from
1990 to 1996, and with Prudential Securities from 1987 to 1989.
He received a BA degree with a major in Chemistry from Temple
University, an MS with a major in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon
University, and an MBA from New York University.
