SAMUEL B. HAY, III, is Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
and Director of Main Street Banks, Inc. Mr. Hay is responsible for
managing the daily operations of Main Street Banks, and has been
instrumental in directing the consolidation of the company's four
banking charters since the merger of equals. Mr. Hay's banking
experience includes serving as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
of The Bank of Covington, a $140 million asset community bank in
Covington, Georgia. He served in this capacity until its holding
company, Main Street Banks, Incorporated, consolidated its three banks
in 1996. Mr. Hay continued as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
the consolidated Main Street Bank and served as Chief Financial Officer
of the holding company. Mr. Hay began his banking career with Citizens
and Southern Corporation (now Bank of America Corporation) in 1986. Mr.
Hay has played an active role in the communities of Covington and
Conyers through leadership positions with the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber
of Commerce, United Way, Boy Scouts of America, and the Covington YMCA.
He currently serves as an Elder of the Session of the First Presbyterian
Church in Covington. Mr. Hay received a Bachelor's degree in Economics
from Davidson College and an MBA in Finance from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill. Profile
