SAID S. ARRATA has served as a President and Chief Executive Officer of
Centurion Energy International Inc., and as a Director of the
corporation, for the past seven years. During more than 35 years of
experience in the oil and gas industry, he has held management positions
with major oil companies in Canada and overseas. Mr. Arrata was co-
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of two major engineering and
construction firms, as well as Founder of two international publicly-
traded oil companies, operating in Canada and internationally for nearly
two decades. He led his companies to the forefront of innovative
business practices and encouraged the promotion of higher education and
professionalism within the industry. He has served as a long-time member
and avid supporter of Rotary Club International, and as a member of
several professional engineering and industry associations. Mr. Arrata
serves as a Director on two corporate Boards, and he is a member of the
Board of Directors for The United Way of Calgary, as well as the Calgary
Philharmonic. Mr. Arrata has received considerable recognition over the
years for his entrepreneurship and enthusiastic participation in many
avenues of community service. He is a member of the Engineering
Associates Program at the University of Calgary and has served as a
member of the University's Project Management Advisory Council. His
former company won frequent recognition as one of Calgary's top 100
privately owned companies, and he was nominated for the Entrepreneur of
the Year in 1995. In May 2000, he was highly honored to receive the
Business Distinction Award in recognition of his business acumen and
varied contributions to his community over the past 35 years. He is a
steadfast supporter of the educational and artistic elements, and
maintains a strong commitment to charitable causes. Profile
