DR. ROY CLIFFORD LEVITT has served as the President and Chief Executive
Officer of Genaera Corporation since November 2000. Prior to that, he
served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since
August 1998. Dr. Levitt was appointed head of Research and Development
and a Director of Genaera Corporation in August 1997. Prior to joining
Genaera Corporation on a full-time basis in January 1996, when he
initiated its genomics program, he served as a consultant to a number of
biotechnology companies, including Genaera, beginning in 1995. Dr.
Levitt served as a faculty member at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions
from 1986 to 1995, after completing his residency training in internal
medicine and anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the Johns
Hopkins Medical Institutions, and training in genetics/pharmacogenetics
at the National Institutes of Health. He is Board Certified in
