CHARLOTTE APPEL CHAMBERLAIN is a Vice President at Jefferies & Company,
Inc. where she covers financial services companies -- primarily thrifts,
regional banks and mortgage bankers. Prior to joining Jefferies, Dr.
Chamberlain was associated with Wedbush Morgan, NewAmerica Savings,
Glendale Federal Bank and Federal Home Loan Bank Board. She earned her
Bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and her M.A. and
Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University. Dr. Chamberlain is a member
of the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles Society of Financial
Analysts, the National Association of Business Economists and a former
board member of the Fellows of Contemporary Art.
JOSEPH K. MORFORD III joined BT Alex. Brown in January 1995 and is
responsible for coverage of regional and community banks primarily
located in the western U.S. Prior to joining BT Alex. Brown, he was a
regional Bank Analyst at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Inc., an institutional
brokerage firm specializing in the banking industry. Previously, Mr.
Morford had spent time both as a stockbroker and as a financial manager
for an independent oil company. He received an M.A. with honors from the
University of St. Andrews in Scotland. His personal interests include
