Roundtable Forum: Internet Security

SEAN JACKSON joined Avondale Partners as its first Equity Research Analyst in July 2001. His responsibilities include providing investment research in the Internet security and healthcare technology industries and leading the direction of the technology research effort. Before Avondale, he was Director, Equity Research at SunTrust Equitable Securities, concentrating on Internet security. In January 2000, he published the securities industry's first comprehensive research piece on Internet security, a 128-page report entitled 'Making Sense of Security.' In June 2001, he was recognized as a Wall Street Journal All- Star Analyst for stock-picking in the Internet sector. This award was preceded by his ranking from bulldogresearch.com in 2000 as the number one ranked Internet software analyst based on price performance of buy and strong buy recommendations. In 1999, he was the number one ranked analyst at SunTrust Equitable Securities based on strong buy recommendations. Prior to SunTrust Equitable, he worked for four years as actuarial consultant for Thornthwaite & Co., and one summer as a Research Analyst at Fidelity Investments. He earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Engineering at Princeton University, where he was captain of the varsity basketball team and Ivy League Player of the Year. MICHAEL R. ANDEREGG, CFA, is an Analyst at Moors & Cabot, which he joined in January 2002. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial analysis, management and investment fields. His background includes assignments in a Fortune 500 treasury department, GE Capital and First Asset Management, now part of US Bank. He also has held three senior Investor Relations Officer positions in the software sector. He holds a BA from Hamline University and an MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. Erik Suppiger is Managing Director and a senior research analyst focusing on internet infrastructure, information security, and data services at Signall Hill Capital Group, LLC. He has more than 17 years' experience in financial services and more than a dozen in networking and security research. In the communications equipment sector, he has been the top performer several times in the monthly StarMine analysts awards and he was second in the Forbes 2005 Best Analysts rankings. Prior to joining Signal Hill, he was a Managing Director at Pacific Growth Equities where he was a senior research analyst and later he pioneered alternative forms of analytical services. Before joining Pacific Growth, he covered networking as a Senior Research Analyst at JP Morgan H&Q. Previously, he held research associate positions at Deutsche Banks DMG Technology Group and at Hambrecht and Quist.
