JAMES LUCAS joined Janney Montgomery Scott in March 1998. His research
coverage is dedicated to companies whose management has adopted 'modern
manufacturing,' meaning lean production and continuous improvement
techniques. In addition to modern manufacturing techniques, Mr. Lucas
also searches for companies that generate strong cash flow, have
dominant market niches and also have strong insider ownership. Prior to
joining Janney, Mr. Lucas spent two years at NatWest Securities. From
1993 to 1996, Mr. Lucas was a Special Situations Analyst at Raymond
James & Associates, where he followed a multitude of industries,
including business services, electronics, infrastructure, manufacturing,
outsourcing and real estate. He received a BS in Accounting and an MBA
from Tampa College. In addition, Mr. Lucas has completed the three-day
Executive Orientation of the Danaher Business System, participated in a
week-long kaizen event conducted by Shingijutsu at a Stanley Works
facility, attended a management symposium at Six Sigma Qualtec, and
participated in a week-long kaizen event at JMS conducted by two senior
members of the Danaher Business System Office. Profile
HOLDEN LEWIS is a Senior Vice President at BB&T Capital Markets Equity
Research and follows companies in the industrial equipment sector, both
manufacturing and distribution, with depth in the latter differentiating
his coverage and providing a unique perspective on the sector. H e
joined BB&T Capital Markets Equity Research in August 2002 and
previously followed the same sector at CIBC World Markets, where he was
a Director. Prior to that, he was Vice President at Dain Rauscher,
covering regional industrial manufacturing and services companies. He
spent two years as a technical analyst before moving into fundamental
research with PaineWebber in 1994. He received his undergraduate degree
in Business Management from the University of Vermont. Profile
