RONALD A. ANDREWS JR. is the President and Chief Executive Officer of
ChromaVision Medical Systems, Inc., located in San Juan Capistrano,
California. Mr. Andrews leads ChromaVision as it launches new products
and services and works toward its goals of expanding market position and
achieving sustained growth and profitability. Prior to joining
ChromaVision, Mr. Andrews served as Senior Vice President of Roche
Molecular Diagnostics in Pleasanton, California. In this role he was
responsible for international marketing and commercial business
development for Roche's portfolio of molecular products. Prior to his
move into the global role, he was Vice President, Molecular Diagnostics
for Roche Diagnostics Corporation (RDC) in Indianapolis where he was
responsible for the US commercial operations for the molecular business.
Andrews began his tenure at Roche as the Vice President of Marketing for
Centralized Diagnostics where he was responsible for planning and
directing the marketing of the clinical chemistry, immunochemistry,
hematology, and molecular product lines. Before joining Roche in 2000,
Mr. Andrews was Vice President of Marketing and Instrument Sales at
Immucor, Inc. Immucor is known as a worldwide manufacturer and leading
market share holder in the transfusion medicine arena. Mr. Andrews began
his sales and marketing career with Abbott Laboratories where he spent
10 years in various sales and marketing positions. He left Abbott as a
Marketing Director of the Integrated Product Line strategy in March 1995
to join Immucor. During his 19 years in the diagnostics industry, Mr.
Andrews has held positions leading both domestic and international
marketing and sales functions across a broad range of diagnostic
disciplines. He has maintained a passion through the years for the
important role laboratory science plays in patient management as well as
training and development of people in the marketing sciences. During his
tenure at Abbott, he was a member of the development team for Abbott's
Executive Training Program. At Roche, Mr. Andews has been instrumental
in creating the Roche Marketing University program to bring a didactic
understanding of the marketing sciences to Roche employees at the
Indianapolis and Pleasanton campuses. Mr. Andrews is most respected for
his strategic understanding of the diagnostic business and his high
energy level. He is a graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, South
Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and
