RICHARD E. TERRY is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of
Peoples Energy Corporation. Prior to becoming Chairman, Mr. Terry was
President and Chief Operating Officer (1987-1990), Executive Vice
President (1984-1987), and Vice President and General Counsel
(1981-1984) of the company and its subsidiaries. Mr. Terry has been an
employee of the company and/or its subsidiaries since 1972. Mr. Terry is
also a Director of Amsted Industries, Bankmont Financial Corp. and its
