WILLIAM R. WALKER has served as Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer of Hi/fn, Inc. since November 1997. He was the company's Acting
Chief Executive Officer and Acting President from July 1998 through
October 1998. From 1996 to 1997, Mr. Walker was Vice President, Chief
Financial Officer and Secretary at MMC Networks, Inc., a networking
company. From 1984 to 1996, Mr. Walker held the position of Senior Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer at Zilog, Inc., a semiconductor
supplier. Mr. Walker has a BS in Economics from the University of
Wisconsin and an MBA from the University of Maryland. He is a Certified

RAYMOND J. FARNHAM has served as Chairman, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Hi/fn, Inc. since October 1998. From 1996 through 1998, he
served as Executive Vice President of Integrated Device Technology,
Inc., a supplier of microprocessor, logic and memory integrated circuits
to communications and computer customers worldwide. Mr. Farnham was
President and Chief Executive Officer of OPTI, a fabless semiconductor
company, from 1994 through 1995. From 1972 through 1993, he had numerous
management responsibilities at National Semiconductor Corp., with his
final position from 1991 through 1993 being President of the
Communication and Computing Group. He received his BS in Electrical
