Kurt Voldeng is Chief Investment Officer of Commerce Asset Management at AdvisorShares Investments, LLC and Portfolio Manager of AdvisorShares QAM Equity Hedge ETF (NYSEARCA:QEH). Mr. Voldeng specializes in alternative investment strategies. His responsibilities include structuring, evaluating, monitoring and servicing nontraditional investment assets for institutional and individual clients. Mr. Voldeng has educated clients on hedge fund investing and advised clients on customized multimanager hedge fund portfolios ranging in size from $20 million to over $5 billion. Additionally, Mr. Voldeng aided in the discretionary management of multimanager hedge fund portfolios for Consulting Services Group, LLC — CSG — including an account for the New York State Common Retirement Fund with peak assets of $1 billion. Mr. Voldeng began his career with CSG in 1990 as a financial analyst and accepted an ownership position in the firm in 1999. Prior to joining CSG, Mr. Voldeng worked with the corporate finance department of Union Planters National Bank — Regions. Mr. Voldeng graduated with honors with a B.A. in finance from the University of Memphis and holds an MBA from the University of Memphis as well. Mr. Voldeng maintains the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation and holds the Series 65 license through Commerce Asset Management LLC. He is currently an active member of the University of Memphis Alumni Association and additionally serves on the board of the Sigma Chi House Corporation for the Epsilon Kappa chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
