James Fowler, Managing Director and Senior Analyst of Mortgage Finance,
joined JMP Securities LLC in February 2001 as a Managing Director and
Senior Research Analyst, covering the mortgage finance sector. Prior to
joining JMP, he was a Principal and Senior Research Analyst at Thomas
Weisel Partners and responsible for public stock coverage and private
equity research in the financial technology sector. He joined TWP after
a five-year tenure at Montgomery Securities, now Banc of America
Securities. He has extensive experience in the fixed income capital
markets. Prior to joining Montgomery Securities, he was responsible for
managing mortgage investments and mortgage trading positions at both
Oppenheimer and Co., and Ocwen Financial Corporation. He was named a
Wall Street Journal All-Star Analyst (ranked number two) in its 'Best on
the Street' analyst survey for real estate and for diversified financial
services in 2004 and for real estate in 2003 (ranked number one) and
2001 (ranked number five). He attended Montana State University and
California State University, receiving degrees in both Economics and
