Brian E. Stewart is President and Chief Executive Officer of Patient Safety Technologies, Inc., and the original Co-Founder of its wholly-owned operating subsidiary SurgiCount Medical, Inc., which he sold to Patient Safety Technologies in 2005. He is the Co-Inventor of the company's core product offering, the Safety-Sponge System, and Author of multiple issued domestic and international patents protecting the solution. Mr. Stewart returned to Patient Safety Technologies after spearheading a shareholder-led management and board of directors restructuring in 2010. Prior to returning to Patient Safety Technologies, Mr. Stewart spent more than 10 years in the investment banking industry, working at Credit Suisse, CIBC World Markets and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. In addition to his investment banking and entrepreneurial experience, Mr. Stewart has previous investment management experience at Strome Investment Management.
