PARIS G. (GARY) REECE III is Executive Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer of M.D.C. Holdings, Inc., a $2.9 billion New York
Stock Exchange company that builds single-family homes under the name
'Richmond American Homes' in 13 states and is the largest homebuilder in
Colorado. With 28 years of experience in the corporate finance,
accounting and tax arena, Mr. Reece works very closely with MDC's
Chairman and President in developing and carrying out the company's
strategic direction. In addition, he has direct responsibility for MDC's
investor and public relations, accounting, treasury, tax, payroll, risk
management and strategic planning functions. Mr. Reece joined MDC as
Vice President of Tax in 1988. He was promoted to Chief Financial
Officer in 1990 and to Executive Vice President in 1999. Prior to
joining MDC, Mr. Reece served as Director of Tax Planning for Occidental
Petroleum Corporation, where he worked from 1977 until 1988. Mr. Reece
is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in
Accounting, and has a CPA license in the State of Texas. He is a member
of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas
Society of CPAs and the Financial Executives Institute, and serves on
the Board of Advisors for the School of Accountancy at the University of
