CHARLES M. STRAIN is President of Strain Consultants, Inc. in Houston.
Strain Consultants is a two-man company formed to provide energy
research to brokerage firms and also provide certain financial
consulting services to companies in the energy industry. The firm also
provides its research to individuals and companies on investments in the
petroleum industry. Previously, Mr. Strain was associated with Lovett
Underwood Neuhaus & Webb, Inc., Montgomery Securities, Esso Eastern
Inc., Creole Petroleum Corp., Jenney Oil Co., and Texaco Inc. He was
also a member of a task force that rebuilt the linear programming models
of the refining circuit used for financial planning and investment
analysis from 1968-1970. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Mr. Strain
received his Professional Engineering Degree (Petroleum) from the
Colorado School of Mines and his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of
Business Administration. He also served in the Colorado National Guard
and the U.S. Army Reserve. Mr. Strain is married and has three grown
