NICHOLAS PREST is the Chairman and Chief Executive of Alvis Plc. Mr
Prest was educated at the Manchester Grammar School, and obtained his
Master's Degree form Christ Church, Oxford. He also holds a Certificate
in Business Administration from Bradford Business School. He joined the
UK Ministry of Defence in 1974, where he held various posts, the last
one being in the Defence Export Services Organisation. In 1982, Mr Prest
joined United Scientific Holdings Plc and was made General Manager,
Group Sales, the following year. In 1985, he joined the USH Board as
Marketing Director. He subsequently became Managing Director of Land
Systems Division, and was appointed Chairman of Alvis Ltd, the largest
USH subsidiary in 1987. In May 1989, he became Deputy Chief Executive of
United Scientific Holdings. He was then named Chief Executive in
December the same year. In March 1992, the Group changed its name to
Alvis Plc. In 1996, he became Chairman and Chief Executive of Alvis Plc. Profile
