NATHANIEL D. WOODSON is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief
Executive Officer of UIL Holdings Corporation. He also serves as
Chairman of the Board and CEO for The United Illuminating Company and
Chairman of the Board and President of United Resources, Inc. He is a
native of Ridgewood, New Jersey, and earned a Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical Engineering from Yale University, a Master's degree in
Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a
Master's of Business administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Woodson also completed the Advanced Management Program at the
Harvard University Business School. Mr. Woodson formerly served as
Chairman, President and CEO for United Illuminating Company starting in
February 1998. Before then he served as President of the Energy Systems
Business Unit for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Mr. Woodson assumed
his present position March 22, 1999. Additionally, Mr. Woodson is on the
Boards of New Haven Savings Bank, Yale New Haven Hospital, C.U.R.E., and
Empower New Haven, Inc. He is a member of the Governor's Council on
Competitiveness and Technology; Advisory Committee on Investor
Responsibility, Yale; and Visiting Committee, Nuclear Engineering, MIT.
Woodson is co-Chair of the Governor's Votech Task Force; Chair, Regional
Leadership Council and Chair, Regional Growth Partnership. Profile
