MICHAEL P. PINTO is the Chief Financial Officer of M&T Bank Corporation,
as well as its principal bank subsidiary, Manufacturers and Traders
Trust Company (M&T Bank). He heads the Finance Division, which includes
the Controller's Department, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning and
Analysis, and Audit. He also currently oversees the bank's Technology
and Banking Operations. An Executive Vice President of M&T Bank
Corporation, Mr. Pinto also serves as a member of its Management Group.
Mr. Pinto joined M&T Bank in 1985 as an Executive Associate. In 1987, he
was named Vice President and Division Controller for the retail bank. He
became an Administrative Vice President and Manager, Financial Planning
and Analysis in 1989 and held that position until1993, when he was named
Senior Vice President and Controller at M&T Bank Corporation and M&T
Bank. Prior to joining M&T, Mr. Pinto served as a consultant and
Research Assistant at the Wharton Applied Research Center; as a
Supervisor for Peat Marwick & Co. in Zambia; and as an Audit Manager for
accounting firms in his native India. Mr. Pinto received his MBA from
the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate
of the University of Delhi in India. He is a member of the Board of
Trustees and Finance and Strategic Planning Committees of Shea's
Performing Arts Center. He is Treasurer and a member of the Board of
Directors of the International Institute. Mr. Pinto also serves on the
Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's Finance Committee, Canisius College's
Business Advisory Council and Council on Accountancy and the Daemen
College Board of Trustees. He was recently named to the St. Bonaventure
