MICHAEL M. MORAN joined Capitol Bancorp Limited in January 2000
and is currently its Chief of Capital Markets. Prior to joining
Capitol, Mr. Moran was a Partner and member of the Executive
Management Committee for Michigan-based regional investment
banking firm Roney & Co. He was the Managing Director of Bank
Equity Research for Roney from 1994 to 2000, where he was
responsible for the coordination of Roney's investment research
efforts in the financial services sector, with a specialized
focus on banks and thrifts primarily in Michigan, Ohio, and
Indiana. He had also held the position of Senior Associate
Director of Corporate Finance, charged with the responsibility
for merger and acquisition work, and debt/equity underwritings in
the Midwest's banking and thrift sectors. From 1989 to 1994, Mr.
Moran was the First Vice President and Director of Corporate
Development for Michigan National Corporation. Prior to his move
to Michigan in 1989, Mr. Moran was a Vice President for New York-
based Adams Cohen & Associates, an investment banking firm
engaged primarily in raising capital for the financial services
sector, coupled with merger and acquisition advisory work to the
banking and thrift industries. Mr. Moran attended Dartmouth
College, receiving an AB degree in Economics in 1981. He is
