MICHAEL C. MARKOVITZ, PhD, is Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO
of Argosy Education Group, Inc. Dr. Markovitz co-founded the Illinois
School of Professional Psychology (ISPP), which later became the
American Schools of Professional Psychology (ASPP) and then Argosy
Education Group, and has been Chairman of the Board of Directors since
the company's inception. He also served as ISPP's President from 1979 to
1982. Following his purchase of the interests of the other co-founders,
Dr. Markovitz oversaw the growth of ISPP (later ASPP) from one campus to
its current 11 campuses across the country. In addition, from 1978 to
1986, Dr. Markovitz was a lecturer in management at Northwestern
University. He also authored the personnel management textbook BBP Guide
to Human Resource Management published by the Bureau of Business
Practice in 1982. He received his Master's and Doctoral degrees in
Psychology from the University of Chicago and has been an active member
of the American Psychological Association and the National Council of
