MARTIN E. STEIN, JR., is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Regency
Centers Corporation, a publicly traded real estate investment trust.
Regency is the leading national owner, operator, and developer of
grocery-anchored neighborhood retail centers. Mr. Stein, who has been
with the company since 1976, was appointed President of the Real Estate
Division in 1981, President and CEO of the company in 1988 and Chairman
of the Board in 1997. He is a graduate of the Amos Tuck School of
Business Administration at Dartmouth College and Washington and Lee
University. Mr. Stein currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the
Jacksonville Community Foundation and the Bolles School. He also serves
on the Board of Directors of Patriot Transportation Holding, Inc., Stein
Mart, Inc., Palmer & Cay of Florida, Inc., and the National Association
of Real Estate Investment Trusts. He is a member of the International
Council of Shopping Centers, the Urban Land Institute, and the Real
