Lois A. Clarke is Executive Vice President and Chief Investment
Officer of The United Company, a diversified energy company with
assets in excess of approximately $1.5 billion. The company has
holdings in oil and gas in the United States as well as Canada,
six golf courses located in the southeastern United States, and a
financial services division. Mrs. Clarke is President and
Managing Director of United Management Company, LLC, an affiliate
of The United Company. United Management Company manages the
investments of The United Company and UC Investment Fund, a
publicly traded mutual fund. United Management manages
approximately $1 billion in assets. Mrs. Clarke has been with the
company for 31 years, and currently serves on the Executive
Committee of The United Company. Current affiliations are
AmSouth/ Board of Advisors; King College/Board of Trustees;
Bristol Trainstation Foundation/Board of Directors and a member
of Morning Rotary Club of Bristol. In 2000 Mrs. Clarke was
awarded The Golden Ladder Award by the Tri-Cities Chapter of the
National Association of Women Business Owners, and in 2002
received Junior Achievement's Business Hall of Fame laureate of
