Robert J. Murphy is the Chief Investment Officer and a Portfolio Manager for the Hatteras Alternative Mutual Funds. His primary responsibility is to lead the portfolio management team, which includes establishing the policies and direction for the team. In addition, Mr. Murphy is responsible for risk management of the funds and serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee. Prior to joining Hatteras Alternative Mutual Funds, he was with Ivy Asset Management LLC, a division of BNY Mellon Asset Management, where he served as a Managing Director in the Investments Group and in the Investment Products and Strategy Group. Before joining Ivy Asset Management LLC in 2008, Mr. Murphy was a Partner and Director of Risk Management at Meridian Capital Partners, where he worked in various senior capacities starting in 2001. Previously, Mr. Murphy held senior fixed income investment banking positions with A.G. Edwards; Cowen & Company; Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette; and Bear Stearns & Co., Inc. Mr. Murphy received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany.
