LEON NAVICKAS is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Centra
Software, Inc. Mr. Navickas founded Centra in 1995 following a
successful career as General Manager of Research and Development
for Lotus Notes. As Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible
for managing the overall operation of the company, including the
definition and direction of Centra's technological vision and
strategic business goals. While at Lotus, Mr. Navickas also
served as General Manager of the company's Portable and Mobile
Computing Division where he invented and then led the development
of the industry's first palmtop PC with Hewlett-Packard. He
managed several acquisitions, including Lotus Organizer, and
negotiated joint business ventures with HP and Intel. He also
directed the division responsible for the development of
mainframe and minicomputer versions of Lotus 1-2-3 for IBM and
served as development manager for Lotus Jazz. Early in his
career, Mr. Navickas worked at Index Systems in a management and
technical consulting role and at Data General as a Software
Engineer developing distributed database management products. He
holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Boston
University and a Bachelor's degree from Boston College. Profile
