KEVIN RAKIN is President and Chief Executive Officer of Genaissance
Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He is a member of the Board of Directors and a
Founder of the company. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer, in
addition to President, in August 2002 and previously served as the
company's President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Rakin was
previously a Principal at The Stevenson Group where he provided
investment, strategic and merchant banking services to high-growth
technology companies and venture capital firms. From 1982 to 1990, he
was associated with Ernst and Young and served as a Manager in the
Entrepreneurial Services Group. Mr. Rakin is co-Chairman of the Board of
Directors of Connecticut United For Research Excellence (CURE),
Connecticut's BioScience Cluster. He is also on the Board of Directors
of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Connecticut, Inc. Mr. Rakin received a BS
in Business and an MS in Finance from the University of Cape Town and an
