JOHN E. SCHNEIDER is Chief Financial Officer of SEMCO Energy, Inc. SEMCO
is a Farmington Hills, Michigan-based company that distributes natural
gas to more than 385,000 customers as SEMCO Energy Gas Company and in
Alaska as Enstar Natural Gas Company. The company also operates
businesses involved in pipeline construction services, propane
distribution, intrastate pipelines and natural gas storage.
Additionally, the information technology segment specializes in
outsourcing services for the mid-range computer market. Mr. Schneider
joined SEMCO in 1998 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer of SEMCO Energy Ventures. He most recently was Executive Vice
President and Chief Operating Officer of SEMCO Energy Gas Company. His
background includes a number of senior management positions including 11
years as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Primark
Corporation's Financial Services Business. Mr. Schneider served as
Assistant Treasurer of Michigan Consolidated Gas Company and related
subsidiaries. Prior to this position, he was responsible for financing
and investments at what is now ANR Pipeline. Mr. Schneider holds a
Master's degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and a
Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mathematics from Michigan
