JOHN A. MACZUZAK joined National Steel Corporation as Vice President and
General Manager of its Granite City Division in May 1996. Later that
year, he was appointed to the position of President and Chief Operating
Officer. Formerly the General Manager of ProTec Coating Company, he has
more than 31 years of broad based experience in the steel industry. He
began his career with the U.S. Steel Group of USX Corporation in 1965
and held several senior level positions. Prior to his position at ProTec
Coating, he held the positions of Vice President of Operations and Vice
President of Purchasing, Business Systems and Planning for USS/Kobe
Steel Company. He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the
University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Maczuzak is a member of the American Iron
& Steel Institute, the Illinois Manufacturer's Association and the
Southwestern Illinois Industrial Association. Profile
