JOHN F. DAVIS III is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer
of Dallas-based Pegasus Solutions, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of
electronic hotel distribution technology and representation solutions.
In 1989, Mr. Davis was recruited by 16 of the world's leading hotel and
travel-related companies to launch a company that would lower hotel
reservation distribution costs. He led the launch of the Pegasus
Electronic Distribution 'switch' technology, which was created
originally to link the central reservation systems of hotel companies
with the major airline global distribution systems (GDS) that travel
agents use, such as Sabre and Galileo. In 1994, Mr. Davis led the launch
of TravelWeb.com, which was the first site to offer real-time online
hotel reservations. Mr. Davis' latest initiative as CEO of Pegasus
Solutions was the creation of a new company, Hotel Distribution Systems.
With Pegasus as part owner along with five major hotel companies. HDS
will be the first company to automate the 'net-rate' or 'merchant-model'
discount hotel reservation process. He has received numerous awards and
accolades for his contributions to the travel industry. Mr. Davis
resides on the Boards of Pegasus Solutions and TRX, Inc., and is on the
Board of Trustees of Texas Christian University. Mr. Davis is also a
member of the International Board of Visitors of TCU's M.J. Neely School
of Business. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree
from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Profile
