JOHN AMBROSEO was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer
of Coherent, Inc., in October 2002. He joined Coherent in August
1988 and from June 2001, he served in the role of Chief Operating
Officer. Prior to this, he served as an Executive Vice President
of Coherent and President and General Manager of the Coherent
Photonics Group. His earlier positions within Coherent included
President and General Manager of Coherent Laser Group, Scientific
Business Unit Manager, Director of European Operations, National
Sales Manager, and Product Marketing Manager. Mr. Ambroseo
received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania
and his Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York
