JEFFREY A. JOERRES was appointed President and CEO of Manpower Inc. in
1999, and Chairman of the Board in 2001. He joined Manpower in 1993 as
Vice President of Marketing, responsible for the company's overall
marketing strategy. He then served as Senior Vice President of European
Operations and Global Account Management and Development. Mr. Joerres is
a member of the Board of Directors of Artisan Funds, an investment
management firm with offices in Milwaukee, Atlanta and San Francisco. He
is also a member of the Board of Directors of Johnson Controls, Inc., an
$18 billion global market leader in automotive systems and facility
management and control. Mr. Joerres is known as a strong proponent of
job training and workforce development initiatives. In the United
States, he is a member of the President's Commission on Welfare to Work
Partnership. He is also a director of the National Association of
Manufacturers, and a trustee for its Center for Workforce Success. Mr.
Joerres also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Committee for
Economic Development (CED). In addition, he serves on The Commission on
Technology and Adult Learning, an initiative of the National Governors'
Association and the American Society for Training and Development. Prior
to joining Manpower, Mr. Joerres was Vice President of Sales and
Marketing for ARI Network Services, a publicly held, high-tech
electronic data interchange company. He has also held several management
positions within IBM. Mr. Joerres received a Bachelor of Science degree
from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Profile
