JAMES M. McALEAR is Senior Equity Portfolio Manager for Columbia
Management Group. He serves as lead manager on the international
strategy and has been a portfolio manager for the Columbia International
Stock Fund since its inception in 1992. Previously, Mr. McAlear spent 20
years in London. He was senior vice president and portfolio manager with
American Express Financial Advisors, specializing in global portfolio
management for institutional clients. In London, he also held various
positions with Merrill Lynch Europe, most recently as executive
director. Mr. McAlear earned his undergraduate degree from Boston
College and his MA degree in Economics from Michigan State University. Profile
DEBORAH SNEE is a Portfolio Manager for Columbia Management Group. She
serves as the Portfolio Manager for the international and European
strategies and as Co-Manager of the Liberty Newport Europe Fund. Prior
to joining the firm, Ms. Snee spent five years at Progress Investment
and at Sit/Kim International as an international equities analyst.
Previously, she worked with Goldman Sachs, Dean Witter and NationsBank.
Ms. Snee earned a BS degree in Finance, with a minor in Economics, from
the University of Delaware, and an MS degree in Computer Information
Systems from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. She holds the
Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Ms. Snee is a member of the
Security Analysts Society of San Francisco and the Association for
